Jewel's big game hunt!

Jewel is a young lady with a massive will of her own and lot's and lot's of ideas of what a kitty can do to spice life up for the rest of the apartments inhabitants. She has already managed to give me a few extra grey hairs. Especially whe she teams up with one of the others and they really know how to make my home their personal dragstrip. These girls know racing. I found out that best way to deal with it, is to take cover and wait for the "attac" to blow over, arm yourself with patience (and a vaccumcleaner for all the fury leftovers).

Jewel is extremely headstrong and I have found myself compromising with her in a way I never have had to and never have done with any of the other cats ever. Just like Mirre she belives that she has an almost godgiven right to give me a helping paw in whatever I do.
When eating breakfast I do not wish to have any cats on the table but she keeps jumping up over and over again until I either let her stay at the far end of the table or I waist so much timing trying to convince her that what I say goes that I miss the opportunity to have my coffe.
She is as convinsing about her right to "help out" when I plant something, I fill the pot and when I turn my attention to the next plant she digs the first one up. When I then react by getting both irritated and upset she is totally surpriced, how on earth can I be cross on her? If I get to do some planting so does she, the methods differ some but we do both get are paws dirty!

To give you an exampel of a typical "Jewelesk" episode. In short:I took a bath and my slipper "died". Sounds strange? Let me explain.
Jewel does not think I'm, capabel of taking a bath on my own, she absolutely needs to superwise it. She sits beside the tub and every now and then there is a loud MIAOW and I have to talk to her and then I she let's me soak a little while moore and then there is a loud MIOAW ect.
If I don't pay any attention to her, she tries to jump up on the rim of the tub wich is slanted so that always ends up in a "cat"-astroph", meaning she tumbles in with a splash.
Not that it really doesn't seem to bother her, nothing really seems to. Jewel is one cool kitty by nature. Other cats becomes more or less hysterical and turns around in the air and does not almost hit the water but not Jewel. She is not like other cats, not at all. If I'm not fast enough she hits the bottom of the tub and then I lift her up soaking wet and my heart pounding like crazy. She just looks at me with that glance that says: I knew you'd pick me up! She seems to trust me in a way I would presume a dog would.

Jewel about eight weeks old and already able to melt any heart!

The other day I desided to take a long hot bath and was very determind to once and for all show her who's the boss (you guess where this is going don't you?). So when she miaowed I pretended not to notice. She repeated it and I ignored her again.
-Okey, here she comes, I thought and no sooner had that thought occured, she jumped up on the rim and I was quick as lightning (if I may say so myself) and pushed her down on the floor again. I was really proud of myself and thought that, now this was settled, now I rule!
-Yeah right!
Jewel stared at me and stuck her tail in the air, walked out to the lounge and "killed" my slipper!
There I sat in the tub, watching her turning my slipper into tiny tiny pieces, shredding it really well. When she was finished she walked back into the bathroom, sat down on her usual place and said: MIAOW. I heard myself say, Yes, Jewel I'm here.....

This is so typical Jewel, she can come up with a thousand ways to tease me and really drive me XXXX and then make me laughs so much I get tears in my eyes. That way she is very much like Tootles and maybe this is also the reason for those two to go along so well.
All together I can always buy new slippers but not in a million years will I ever get another cat like Jewel, she is truly one of a kind!

Jewel has a pretty high inbreeding coefficient (from her Persian ancestry) but when you breed her into my Birman lines she will bring down the figures to almost nothing in the first generation and help keeping it very low in future generations to come. Okey, now low inbreeding numbers aren't a guarantee for everything, in fact there aren't any guarantees at all when you are a breeder. Still having your aim set att trying to keep the inbreeding down as low as possible can not be a bad thing.

For all these reasons and for her being a sweetheart in general, unbelivably charming, full of tricks and that very importaint fact, she gives me the chance of getting healthier kittens for the next generations to come, she is absolutely invaluable and I'm so proud to have her here.
-Alwyn, *Thanks* for letting me share my life with her, she has the most amazing purrrsonality and she is all through and through smashing.
